Safety Culture

Baldwin General safetyNOTHING SUPERSEDES THE IMPORTANCE OF SAFETY

Our commitment to construction safety is that each worker goes home in the same condition that he or she arrived in. We promote a safety culture that values not only jobsite safety, but considers why it is important. In addition to providing construction safety training programs to our craft personnel, we also place emphasis on the many reasons why staying safe matters in their lives; their health, livelihood, being able to participate in their favorite activities, and most of all their families who love depend upon them. Our safety program is designed to support a positive safety culture that continually improves our safety record and recognizes individuals who make good safety choices.

NO PROJECT IS SUCCESSFUL UNLESS IT IS BUILT SAFELY

Our zero/zero safety policy: zero tolerance for violations and zero incidents on jobsites, is ingrained in all our employees, from our crafts personnel to our home office managers. We have high internal standards and expect our clients, project partners, and subcontractors to share this important value. Our safety committee is comprised of dedicated field and management staff members who assist in upholding the company’s safety and health policies and ensure that safe work practices and procedures are consistent across all job sites. They work closely with project managers and field supervisor’s to plan the safest approach to each project.

ACCOUNTABILITY

People like to be measured; key to the success of our safety program is giving quick recognition to the employees who make good safety choices. Our supervisors will give out hard hat safety stickers to people when they do the right thing or treat a crew to a pizza lunch when they identify and correct an unsafe condition. This instant recognition gives immediate feedback for a job well done and builds accountability through positive experiences.
