Baldwin General completed this seismic upgrade and renovation to the classroom building at Blodgett Elementary School on an aggressive 44 day schedule. Structural improvements included placing footings and installing seismic hardware and plywood sheathing to create sheer walls. New windows, siding and exterior finishes were constructed to match the historic character of the old school building. The existing roof was torn off, blocking, sheathing, strapping and hold downs were installed, and a new roof was put on. New HVAC was installed including:, ducting, venting, air terminal devices, fuel piping, insulation, Seismic bracing and supports, controls, electrical, testing and balancing for a complete and functional system as well as a total re-piping of the domestic water and renovations to the restroom facilities. New wood, acoustic panel, paint and floor finishes were included in our scope.
