Corvallis City Hall

Originally constructed as a church, this 80 year old, three story historic City Hall building underwent a major structural renovation involving substantial selective demolition of interior wall and ceiling assemblies to allow for the erection of 71 steel columns and associated concrete footings, epoxy masonry anchors and roof diaphragm sheer panels. The re-configuration of wall assemblies to conceal the columns and seismic strapping of floor and ceiling joists to the existing unreinforced masonry walls around the perimeter of the three floors necessitated new finishes throughout. All the original historical architectural woodwork was painstakingly salvaged, catalogued and reused. A seismic retrofit of the existing fire sprinkler main line systems and suspended ceiling systems was performed concurrently.
