Dallas Fire Station

This challenging seismic rehabilitation of the Dallas Main Fire Station involved demolition and replacement of entire portions of the existing building envelope while the building remained fully occupied and operational. A full demolition of the roof structure and building fenestrations was necessary to accommodate construction of a concrete elevator / sheer tower in the center of the structure and installation of associated structural steel shape, braces, seismic strapping & components. Work included replacement of metal wall panels, fenestration and roofing systems, installation of new elevator with associated mechanical, and restoration of all affected finishes. Accessibility upgrades to the existing restrooms and construction of new women’s facilities were part of the architectural improvements.
