Polk Academy Renovation

The scope of this project involved a complete renovation of this 75,000 square foot county administration building which remained fully occupied during construction. Exterior work included demolition and replacement of 156 windows and a total restoration of the exterior veneer plaster system. Improvements to the interior consisted of repartitioning and remodeling of office spaces, structural upgrades with poured-in-place footings to move bearing walls, fire sprinkler systems, new HVAC and mechanical systems, wall assemblies, electrical, phone, data and controls. In addition to new doors, relights, casework, the historic restorations of trim details to match the character of the original structure were all self-performed by Baldwin General Finish Carpenters.
