Best of the Valley Spotlight: Creekside Housing Development Project

As voting for Best Of The Valley 2025 presented by Willamette Living Magazine continues, we are shining a spotlight on our past year of builds by Baldwin from Portland to Eugene and all points in between.

First up, the Creekside Housing Development Project with The Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde. Completed last May with the help and support of our dedicated subcontractors and Energy Trust of Oregon, the build received an award from the Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance (NEEA) for Leadership in Energy Efficiency Innovative Collaboration. The multi-family project features eight low-income and 16 market-rate single-family homes for Tribal elders and their families and demonstrates a future of efficient, affordable, healthy and resilient homes built by Baldwin.

The collaboration with The Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde also drew state-wide and national attention thanks to Oregon Public Broadcasting and National Public Radio featuring the Creekside Housing Development Project.

“In a corner lot between Highway 22 and Grand Ronde Road sit 24 newly built single-family homes. These homes look like many that are being built in Oregon right now as the state tries to address a dire housing shortage, but they have one difference: extreme energy efficiency. They represent a way that Oregon can build housing for its future, rather than its past; and they will all house a special group of residents, the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde’s tribal elders.”
